Jesse Keith Butler and D. S. Martin launch collections (2025)
Two poets read in the church, followed by a reception in the parish hall, on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 2:30 pm.
Jesse Keith Butler is an award-winning poet based in Ottawa, Ontario. He won first prize in the inaugural ESU Formal Verse Contest in 2024 and third place in the Kierkegaard Poetry Competition in 2023. In 2026 he will be a Writer in Residence at Berton House in Dawson City, Yukon. His poems are published or forthcoming in Arc Poetry Magazine, Maisonneuve Magazine, Dappled Things, New Verse Review, Pulp Literature, and Ekstasis Magazine. Among other poems, he will be reading from his first book, The Living Law (Darkly Bright Press, 2024).
D.S. Martin is Poet-in-Residence at McMaster Divinity College, and the author of six poetry collections, including Ampersand (2018) and Angelicus (2021). He is also the Series Editor for the Poiema Poetry Series from Cascade Books, where he has edited more than fifty poetry collections and several anthologies. He and his wife live in London, Ontario. At this event he is launching his most recent collection, The Role of the Moon (Paraclete Press, 2025).
